November 2022
The grass has died down on the surface with the cooler days approaching. Shorter daylight hours have their effect but the plants still remain active underground within their root systems, though quite a bit less lively. The ground will remain warm for a while yet even though there will be days where the temperature will be freezing or below. This allows for a time of dormancy within both the botanical as well as animal life until the first days of Spring. Seeds have fallen upon the surface and are quickly grabbed up for food and in many cases taken underground for storage where many of the uneaten seeds will sprout when the ground warms up once again in a few months.
