October 2022

Notice how different the grass appears from last month as much of the grass and other plant life have turned from a deep green to a dry light brown getting ready for the colder climate. A thirty-foot wide path was bush hogged earlier in the month around the perimeter of the pasture for easier walking access. The rest of the pasture was left to winter over as a warmer blanket of the dry grasses will help keep the soil in better shape as it would more naturally through the coming colder temperatures.  This will also help keep more of the moisture in the ground for the coming spring growth and give the botanical as well as the animal life a head start when temperatures begin to warm up.
